About Us

‘Project Be Free’ was founded in August 2020 by our group of culturally diverse individuals. We realized that due to the Covid 19 outbreak, a lack of resources, and a seeming increase of racial disparities, the Domestic Violence system was being overwhelmed. Many survivors, while being trapped in their homes, are experiencing increased difficulty reaching resources, advocacy, and navigating survival. We set out to bridge the gap between individuals experiencing Domestic Violence and necessary needs pivotal to an individual’s survival. The increase of connections was needed to gain freedom, safety, stability, and a voice which would promote a healthy foundation. One of our primary goals is to be able to bridge the gap between marginalized communities and first responders to decrease the fear often experienced by individuals of color when in crisis. As we found there are very few current services of trained Mental Health Professionals which can connect their expertise in Mental Health, have Domestic Violence Advocacy Training, that are crisis responders within our county.

We are an organization which promotes healing, cultural and racial sensitivity, and respectful services to individuals of all genders and faith backgrounds. Project Be Free is an organization which values strengthening relationships within our community, aiding in the increase of individuals’ resiliency and walking alongside those in need to promote options and the ability to be free.
