Retirement Communities
Serving generations of Northwest seniors and their families since 1944, not-for-profit Wesley offers full continuum-of-care retirement communities - from independent living and assisted living to memory care and skilled nursing & rehabilitation - with campuses in Des Moines, Auburn and Puyallup (opening 2018) with Renton to follow. In addition, Wesley provides home health in King and Pierce Counties and hospice in King County.
Wesley has purchased 24 acres in the Fairwood neighborhood of Renton (on 140th Avenue SE, north of SE 180th Street and south of Nativity Lutheran Church) to build the only such community - for-profit or not-for-profit - in the greater Renton area. Approximately 250 seniors will live on campus and the rehabilitation & care center will be open to all area residents.
To help keep monthly fees reasonable and serve a more diverse economic constituency, Wesley will seek up to 10% of the total capital project cost (approximately $85 million) in community support. A Circle of Concern Endowment of $1.5 million will also be created to help provide housing and services (up to 50%) for qualified residents (tenure of 5+ years) who have exhausted their financial resources through no fault of their own.
More than 200 construction jobs will result from this project and when phase I opens (independent living, assisted living, memory care), up to 45 full-time and 40 part-time jobs will be created. Phase II will add skilled nursing & rehabilitation.
